So why does a “fast” VPS feel slow in production?

Synthetic tests miss system coupling

  2. Break latency into components (proxy, app, DB, external).
  3. Fix highest-contribution segment first.
  4. Re-test with same user-path workload.

Performance work without attribution usually burns time.
